Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan, is looking for a competent Medical Specialist / Trained Medical Specialis****t based at Aga Khan Diagnostic Center, Chitral inLower Chitral.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provides comprehensive medical consultations and manages both inpatient and outpatient cases.
• Diagnoses and treats a wide range of medical conditions, particularly chronic and complex diseases (e.g., diabetes, hypertension, cardiac, respiratory, and gastrointestinal disorders).
• Performs and interprets diagnostic procedures such as ECGs, X-rays, laboratory results, and other relevant investigations.
• Develops individualized treatment plans and monitors patient progress.
• Contributes to continuing medical education, audits, and clinical governance activities.
• Participates in community health education and preventive medicine initiatives when required.
• Ensures adherence to clinical guidelines, infection prevention, and quality assurance protocols.
• Collaborates with other specialists for integrated and holistic patient management.
• Maintains accurate and detailed patient records and ensures timely medical documentation.
• Leads and participates in clinical rounds, multidisciplinary meetings, and case discussions.
• Provides guidance, supervision, and mentoring to medical officers, residents, and nursing staff.
• Participates in clinical meetings, case discussions, and multidisciplinary team rounds.
• Contributes to the development and implementation of clinical protocols and quality improvement initiatives.
• Supervises and guide medical officers, residents, and allied health staff as required.
• Ensures compliance with organizational policies, infection control, and patient safety standards.
• Promotes healthy lifestyles and preventive healthcare through patient education and outreach activities.
• Supports immunization programs, screening camps, and health awareness sessions in the community.
• Collaborates with public health teams to identifies and address local health needs.
Qualifications & Experience:
• MBBS / FCPS, or FCPS (4 years of training completed) in Internal Medicine/family medicine, or MCPS, or equivalent qualification
• Post-qualification residency training experience in Internal Medicine/ family medicine at a reputable healthcare institution.
• Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.
• Expertise in managing acute and chronic medical conditions.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with patients and colleagues.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
• Leadership, teaching, and mentoring abilities.
• Commitment to continuous learning, ethical practice, and patient-centered care.
• Computer literacy and Tele consultation (ICU/NICU)
• Results-driven, ethical and adaptable professional with a strong service and stakeholder focus.
• Strong integrity with the sensitivity to manage confidential information.
• Demonstrates superior organizational skills and the agility to multitask and assume changing strategic responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
