Furniture Product Designer

Al Haadi Mobilya is looking for a creative and skilled Furniture Product Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing innovative, functional, and aesthetically appealing furniture products while ensuring that designs are practical, cost-effective, and suitable for manufacturing.

The candidate will work closely with the Production, Procurement, and other relevant teams to develop furniture products from initial concept through final production.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop innovative and contemporary furniture designs based on market trends, customer preferences, and company requirements.

• Lead the design process from initial concept and sketches to final product development.

• Prepare detailed 2D drawings, 3D models, technical drawings, and product specifications.

• Create accurate furniture designs using AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3ds Max, or similar design software.

• Conduct research on furniture trends, materials, fabrics, finishes, colors, and manufacturing techniques.

• Select suitable materials, finishes, hardware, and construction methods for furniture products.

• Work closely with the Production and Procurement teams to ensure designs are technically feasible and commercially viable.

• Develop and refine prototypes and make necessary design modifications based on production requirements.

• Review and improve existing products to enhance functionality, aesthetics, quality, and cost efficiency.

• Ensure furniture designs are suitable for mass production while maintaining design standards and quality.

• Maintain proper records of product designs, technical drawings, specifications, prototypes, and revisions.

• Coordinate with relevant departments throughout the product development process.

• Stay updated with international and local furniture design trends and emerging materials.

• Ensure all designs meet company standards for quality, safety, durability, functionality, and aesthetics.

• Manage multiple design projects and ensure timely completion according to assigned deadlines.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Furniture Design, Product Design, Interior Design, or a related field.

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in furniture design, product design, or a similar role.

• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD.

• Good knowledge of SketchUp, 3ds Max, or other 3D design software.

• Strong understanding of furniture construction, materials, joinery, hardware, upholstery, and finishing techniques.

• Good understanding of furniture manufacturing and production processes.

• Creative mindset with the ability to develop unique and commercially viable furniture designs.

• Strong attention to detail and understanding of proportions, ergonomics, and functionality.

• Good communication and coordination skills.

• Ability to work effectively with Production, Procurement, and other departments.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

• Strong problem-solving and design development skills.

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in furniture design, product design, industrial design, or a related field.

• Experience in developing furniture products from concept to prototype and production will be preferred.

• Candidates with experience in a furniture manufacturing or retail environment will have an added advantage.
