Data Centre Network Engineer
Job Description
Seeking a skilled Data Centre Network Technician to install, configure, monitor, and maintain data centre network infrastructure. The role involves supporting network operations, managing structured cabling, troubleshooting connectivity issues, and ensuring the availability, security, and performance of data centre environments.
Key Responsibilities • Install, configure, and maintain network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers. • Perform structured cabling, rack installation, cable dressing, and equipment labeling. • Install, replace, and decommission servers, network devices, and related hardware. • Monitor network performance and respond to incidents promptly. • Troubleshoot network connectivity, hardware failures, and infrastructure issues. • Configure and maintain LAN, WAN, VLAN, VPN, and wireless networks. • Perform preventive maintenance and routine health checks of network equipment. • Maintain accurate documentation of network topology, rack layouts, and asset inventory. • Coordinate with vendors and internal teams during installations, upgrades, and maintenance activities. • Support disaster recovery and business continuity procedures. • Ensure compliance with data centre operational standards, security policies, and safety procedures. • Participate in scheduled maintenance and provide after-hours support when required.
Required Technical Skills • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, STP, OSPF, and BGP. • Experience with Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, or HPE networking equipment. • Knowledge of structured cabling standards (Cat6/Cat6A, Fiber Optics, LC/SC connectors). • Experience with rack installation, cable management, and patch panel configuration. • Familiarity with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, or Nagios. • Knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, and network security best practices. • Understanding of server hardware and virtualization concepts is an advantage. • Experience using ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or Jira. • Ability to interpret network diagrams and technical documentation. • Basic knowledge of Linux and Windows Server environments.
Preferred Qualifications • 2–3+ years of experience in data centre operations or network infrastructure support. • Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, JNCIA, or equivalent are preferred. • Experience working in enterprise or Tier III/Tier IV data centre environments. • Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) is an advantage. • Knowledge of ITIL processes is preferred.

Pay: Rs49,451.52 - Rs178,488.49 per month
