Job Title: Team Lead – RCM Operations (Part-B)

The Team Lead – RCM Operations (Part-B) is responsible for supervising and coordinating the day-to-day activities of the Revenue Cycle Management team supporting physician and outpatient (Medicare Part-B) practices. The Team Lead will ensure timely and accurate completion of billing tasks, monitor team performance, support issue resolution, and maintain high-quality service delivery to clients.

The role requires strong knowledge of the complete RCM lifecycle, including charge entry, claims submission, payment posting, denial management, accounts receivable (A/R) follow-up, and reimbursement management. The Team Lead will work closely with Assistant Managers, Managers, and client representatives to ensure operational targets and service-level requirements are consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities • Lead and supervise a team of Medical Billing Associates. • Assign daily workloads and ensure timely completion of assigned RCM tasks. • Oversee medical billing activities including charge entry, claims submission, payment posting, denial management, A/R follow-up, and reimbursement management. • Monitor daily team productivity, quality, attendance, and performance. • Conduct daily huddles and provide operational updates to management. • Review team work for accuracy, compliance, and adherence to departmental SOPs. • Identify billing issues and coordinate with management for timely resolution. • Communicate with clients and healthcare providers regarding routine billing and operational matters when required. • Monitor claim status, outstanding A/R, denials, rejections, and payer-related issues. • Ensure appropriate follow-up on unpaid and denied claims to maximize reimbursement. • Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports using Excel and other reporting tools. • Track team KPIs and take corrective action where performance falls below expectations. • Coach, train, and mentor team members to improve productivity, quality, and process knowledge. • Support performance evaluations and provide recommendations regarding employee development. • Ensure all billing activities comply with payer guidelines, HIPAA requirements, federal regulations, and company policies. • Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to increase operational efficiency. • Coordinate with coding, credentialing, payment posting, and other RCM teams as needed. • Escalate complex payer, client, or operational issues to the Assistant Manager or Manager. • Assist management in implementing new processes, systems, and client requirements. • Maintain professional communication with internal teams, clients, and healthcare providers.

Required Knowledge & Skills • Strong knowledge of U.S. Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management (RCM). • Working knowledge of Medicare Part-B billing and commercial payer guidelines. • Understanding of the complete claim lifecycle. • Strong knowledge of denial management and A/R follow-up strategies. • Experience with medical billing and reimbursement processes. • Strong team leadership and people-management skills. • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. • Strong analytical and reporting skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and operational reporting. • Ability to manage workload, priorities, and deadlines effectively. • Strong conflict-management and decision-making skills. • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment. • Strong understanding of process management and quality control.
