Job Description

Job Summary:

Network of Organizations Working for Persons with Disabilities (NOWPDP), is a non-governmental organization, established in 2008 as a disability inclusive initiative and works for the welfare, education, skill building, and economic empowerment of persons with disabilities.

NOWPDP is seeking an individual to lead the programmatic and operational activities in Islamabad. The incumbent will be responsible to manage strategic interests with all government bodies, corporate partners, including representation at high level meetings, handling communications and negotiations, and advocating for the cause of disability inclusion at all levels. The incumbent will also be responsible to take NOWPDP’s mandate forward by streamlining operations of the Center of Excellence for Financial Inclusion in the Islamabad region.

Job Responsibilities:

Program Leadership

· Lead and assist in the development and implementation of strategies for achieving program aims

· Implement strategies for sustaining and scaling up programmatic activities in Islamabad

· Assist in overseeing development of program vision, mission, objectives, activities, targets and goals, along with program plans

· Support the pursuit of effective and updated research, development of reports

· Leadership and management of all team members, as decided by Leadership

· Coordinate disability-inclusive efforts for NOWPDP, managing training, recruitment, logistics, finance and coordinate with empowerment teams for timely delivery of projects & trainings. Planning SCNIC camps and DC interventions, managing outreach, databases, partnerships and engage with community leaders

External Engagement

· Establish and maintain relationships with government bodies, including but not limited to, ministers, district and UC representatives, and other stakeholders, government departments such as Social Welfare Department, Special Education etc.

· Develop relationships and establish networks within the bureaucracy on national and regional level

· Analyze the existing government policies for persons with disabilities and advocate for new policies, reforms and laws

· Form partnerships and liaise with organizations (donor agencies, corporate donors and networks) for the implementation of NOWPDP’s mandate

·

Represent NOWPDP at internal and external events – nationally, including but not limited to visibility through TV shows, radio shows, print & digital media, and develop campaigns to publicize NOWPDP across various media platforms

· Lead the planning and implementation of PR and initiatives related to the NOWPDP brand to increase awareness about its activities

Fundraising Support

· Support compliance and reporting requirements with government bodies to expedite grant-in-aid or any other government funding

· Assist the Head of Operations North in developing business plans to generate funding from various sources

· Coordinate with program managers to identify relevant fundraising opportunities

· Establish and maintain relationships with donors and partner organizations and ensure constant engagement of existing donors/partners

· Provide periodic updates to the CEO

Administration & Finance:

· Create annual work plan and budget for Administration as well as Programmatic targets

· Lead the implementation of systems and procedures to maintain administrative and legal records

· Ensure office infrastructure is up to standard and compliant with accessibility standards

· Ensure smooth administrative functioning of NOWPDP’s Islamabad office by overseeing procurement, management of petty cash, event facilitation, and overall management of inventory related to furniture, fixtures, office and computer equipment

Required Skills and Qualifications:

· Bachelor and/or Master’s degree with majors in Business Administration or Social Sciences

· Minimum 5-7 years of experience in the social development sector (preferred)

· Ability to work independently and work under stress to meet deadlines

· Excellent communication, writing and interpersonal skills

· Fluency in Urdu and English
