SITE CONSTRUCTION ENGINEER
Job Description
The Site Construction Engineer is responsible for planning, supervising, and coordinating all on-site construction activities. The role ensures that civil, structural, mechanical, and infrastructure works are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications, international standards, and local regulations.
Key Responsibilities • Supervise all civil and structural construction activities, including: • Earthworks and site preparation • Pile and raft foundations • Reinforced concrete structures • Equipment foundations • Roads, drainage, and utilities • Coordinate support structures, conveyors, bucket elevators, galleries, and process buildings. • Review IFC drawings, specifications, method statements, and shop drawings before execution. • Ensure work complies with approved quality standards and project specifications. • Monitor contractor and subcontractor performance and productivity. • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports. • Verify quantities and certify completed work. • Coordinate with design consultants, equipment suppliers, and project management. • Resolve site technical issues and propose practical engineering solutions. • Ensure compliance with HSE regulations and safe work practices. • Conduct inspections and coordinate quality tests, including concrete testing, surveying, welding inspections, and non-destructive testing where applicable. • Participate in inspections, testing, commissioning, and project handover. • Maintain site records, RFIs, NCRs, and construction documentation.
Required Qualifications • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. • Registered with the Pakistan Engineering Council (preferred). • 5–10 years of construction experience. • Minimum 3 years on industrial, grain storage, cement, or bulk material handling projects preferred. • Experience with reinforced concrete and heavy industrial foundations. • Knowledge of structural steel erection and industrial construction.
Technical Skills • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings. • Construction planning and scheduling. • Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC). • HSE compliance. • AutoCAD. • MS Project or Primavera P6. • Microsoft Office. • Quantity verification and progress measurement. • Knowledge of concrete technology and structural works. • Preferred Experience • Experience with: • Conveyor systems • Bucket elevators • Grain cleaning systems • Dust collection systems • Aeration and ventilation systems • Fire protection systems • Industrial utilities and infrastructure
