Senior Managing Consultant
Job Description
Overview
We're looking for a Senior iOS Engineer to lead the modernization of an existing mobile-web experience into a native iOS application, supporting approximately 3,000 U.S. field technicians. This role will establish the scalable native foundation for the product going forward — including AI-enabled, hands-free interactions — with an architecture built to extend to future wearable devices such as Meta Glasses.
Responsibilities • Design and develop a native iOS application to replace the product's existing mobile web UI, built for a field technician workforce of ~3,000 users. • Integrate the native app with existing backend services and APIs, leveraging established business logic and platform capabilities. • Build support for a memory-efficient, in-app AI experience, including enhanced audio and multimodal transport suited to mobile and hands-free use. • Implement an initial hands-free experience using approved AirPods-based audio, interaction, and native iOS device capabilities. • Architect the application to be extensible toward future wearable/device integrations (e.g., Meta Glasses), with specifics to be defined as business direction evolves. • Own native iOS application lifecycle management — app state, memory management, performance, stability, testing, and release readiness. • Prioritize iOS as the initial platform, supporting the current corporate iPhone environment and iOS-based technician population (Android is out of scope for this phase). • Collaborate iteratively against evolving layouts, requirements, and a prioritized backlog as they're finalized throughout the engagement. • Apply strong engineering practices across solution design, development, testing, code review, troubleshooting, and technical documentation to keep the app maintainable, reliable, performant, and extensible.
Requirements • Proven experience building and shipping native iOS applications (Swift) at production scale. • Experience integrating native apps with existing backend services/APIs and platform business logic. • Familiarity with iOS audio frameworks and AirPods/hands-free interaction patterns. • Experience with app lifecycle, memory, and performance management in native iOS. • Comfortable working against evolving requirements and a backlog in an iterative delivery model. • Strong fundamentals in testing, code review, and technical documentation.
Nice to Have • Experience with multimodal or AI-assisted mobile experiences (voice, audio streaming). • Exposure to wearable device SDKs or interest in extending mobile architecture to wearables (e.g., smart glasses). • Experience supporting large-scale field/enterprise user bases (technician, service, or similar frontline workforce apps).
