About the Role :
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Business Development Manager to support international sales growth for SmartClinix and American TelePhysicians’ healthcare solutions. The role will focus on identifying international opportunities, especially U.S.-based RFPs, tenders, government opportunities, healthcare system bids, physician services opportunities, telehealth contracts, EMR opportunities, RPM/CCM programs, and healthcare technology partnerships. The ideal candidate must have a healthcare background, preferably with a healthcare-related degree, and should understand how healthcare organizations evaluate vendors, issue RFPs, review proposals, and award contracts. This position requires someone who can search for relevant opportunities, understand requirements, prepare bid summaries, coordinate documentation, manage proposal timelines, and support submission of strong, compliant, and commercially competitive bids. This is a performance-driven role. The candidate must be able to generate opportunities, submit quality proposals, and contribute directly to revenue growth through contracts won.
Key Responsibilities: RFP & Tender Identification: Search, track, and identify relevant U.S. and international RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, tenders, grants, and healthcare business opportunities.
Monitor public procurement portals, state and federal websites, hospital systems, healthcare networks, rural health opportunities, correctional healthcare opportunities, EMR tenders, telehealth RFPs, RPM/CCM programs, and physician services bids. Identify opportunities relevant to SmartClinix, American TelePhysicians, telemedicine, EMR, RPM, CCM, specialty physician coverage, virtual care, rural healthcare, correctional facilities, hospitals, and government healthcare programs. Create a weekly RFP opportunity report with opportunity name, issuing authority, scope, deadline, eligibility, estimated value, required documents, and recommendation to bid or not bid. Bid Qualification & Opportunity Analysis: Review RFP documents carefully and summarize the scope, requirements, timelines, technical needs, compliance requirements, pricing format, mandatory documents, and submission process. Evaluate whether the opportunity is a good fit based on services required, geography, licensing, credentials, technology capability, pricing model, and operational feasibility. Prepare a clear go/no-go recommendation for leadership before investing time in full proposal preparation. Identify risks, missing requirements, eligibility issues, mandatory certifications, insurance requirements, licensing requirements, and partnership needs. Proposal & Bid Preparation: Manage the complete bid preparation process from opportunity identification to final submission. Prepare proposal outlines, compliance matrices, document checklists, response templates, company profiles, executive summaries, capability statements, and supporting attachments. Coordinate with internal teams including sales, operations, clinical leadership, technology, finance, compliance, and marketing to collect accurate information for each bid. Draft professional RFP responses covering company overview, relevant experience, technical approach, implementation plan, staffing plan, healthcare expertise, compliance, pricing, value proposition, and differentiators. Ensure all proposals are submitted on time, in the required format, and according to the instructions provided in the RFP. Healthcare Market Understanding:Understand healthcare delivery models, telehealth, EMR, RPM, CCM, physician services, specialty coverage, hospital operations, clinics, patient care workflows, and digital health solutions. Translate healthcare requirements into clear business and proposal language. Understand basic U.S. healthcare terminology, including providers, payers, hospitals, clinics, Medicare-related programs, value-based care, rural health, specialty coverage, and care coordination. Support the positioning of SmartClinix and American TelePhysicians as credible international healthcare solution providers. International Business Development: Identify international healthcare prospects, partners, distributors, hospital groups, clinic chains, and government healthcare opportunities. Support outbound business development campaigns for international markets. Prepare introductory emails, capability decks, proposal documents, and follow-up communication for international prospects. Coordinate discovery calls, demos, and proposal meetings with potential clients. Maintain updated records of all leads, RFPs, submissions, follow-ups, and outcomes. CRM, Reporting & Documentation: Maintain a structured RFP and business development tracker. Update CRM or sales tracking sheets regularly with opportunity status, next steps, deadlines, documents pending, and expected outcome. Prepare weekly reports covering RFPs found, RFPs shortlisted, proposals submitted, meetings scheduled, contracts in discussion, and contracts won. Maintain a reusable proposal library including past submissions, company profiles, service descriptions, case studies, compliance responses, technical content, and pricing templates. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field is required. Preferred degrees include Public Health, Healthcare Management, Health Administration, Pharm-D, MBBS, Nursing, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Medical Technology, or a related healthcare/business field. Additional business qualification such as MBA, BBA, or certification in project management, proposal writing, procurement, or healthcare administration will be an advantage. Required Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of experience in business development, healthcare sales, proposal writing, RFP management, tender management, healthcare operations, or international client acquisition. Experience working on RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, tenders, bids, or formal proposals is strongly required. Prior experience in healthcare, pharma, medical devices, healthcare technology, telemedicine, EMR, medical billing, physician services, diagnostics, or hospital services is preferred. Experience with U.S. healthcare RFPs, government portals, procurement platforms, or hospital vendor processes will be a strong advantage. Required Skills: Strong understanding of bidding, RFP review, proposal writing, and submission requirements. Excellent English writing skills with the ability to create professional proposals and business documents. Ability to read lengthy RFP documents and extract key requirements quickly. Strong research skills for identifying new opportunities across U.S. and international markets. Healthcare industry understanding with the ability to communicate solutions in a credible and professional way. Strong attention to detail, especially for deadlines, compliance requirements, attachments, and submission formats. Ability to coordinate with multiple internal teams and collect information under tight timelines. Strong communication, follow-up, and organizational skills. Comfortable using CRM tools, Excel/Google Sheets, proposal trackers, procurement portals, MS Word, PowerPoint, and online submission platforms. Ability to work independently with ownership and accountability. Key Performance Indicators: Number of relevant RFPs and international opportunities identified per week. Number of qualified opportunities shortlisted for leadership review. Number of approved proposal submissions completed per month. Quality and compliance of submitted proposals. Number of meetings generated from international business development activity. Number of shortlisted bids or finalist-stage opportunities. Number of contracts won. Revenue value of contracts won. Accuracy and timeliness of RFP tracking and reporting. Performance-Based Commission Structure: Ideal Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate is a healthcare-educated business development professional who understands the healthcare industry and has strong writing, research, bidding, and proposal management skills. This person should be able to find real international opportunities, especially in the U.S. market, understand the requirements, prepare professional bid responses, and coordinate internally to submit strong proposals. The candidate should be organized, disciplined, deadline-focused, and commercially motivated. They should be able to work independently, manage multiple RFPs at the same time, and contribute directly to new revenue generation.
