Assistant Manager Microwave Planning & Performance Management

Job Purpose:

To plan access transmission network and manage efficient use of resources.

Job Responsibilities: • Support in end-to-end microwave planning, equipment mapping for New physical sites rollout in timely manner to achieve regional targets. • MW frequency planning and capacity planning for the Access network (2G,3G,4G,5G) ensuring no interference among the MW routes in accordance with the formulated. • Coordinate with peer departments and ensure end to end capacity expansions for microwave network to keep the network in optimum state. Maintain centralized Access TXN network equipment inventories and reconciliation of BOQs with Projects/vendor. • Traffic forecasting, analyzing & optimizing the network for proactive microwave expansions to have better quality network. • Should be familiar to use new state of the art microwave technologies to develop advance microwave network. • Time to time review of the MW network topology and carry out optimization in the operational/planned access network avoiding unnecessary network resources being engaged inefficiently. • Close coordination with RAN optimization team for resolving the customer complaints. • Coordination with regional team for microwave transmission related matters. • Working with stake holders’ departments to address the issues in a timely manner to keep network in ideal state. Monitoring of microwave network utilization and preparation of mitigation plan for congestion. • Resource provisioning for roll out, re-homing’s and RAN up gradation’s projects. • Coordination with peer departments and alignment of IP/VLAN plan according to the network topology. • Interact with RAN Projects as well as BSS Civil Projects to give them Access Network related requirements in terms of network topologies (hub/chain/last mile), tower loading. • TXN repeaters that would need to be met or made available in accordance with the rollout priorities/timelines. • Meet with vendors to sort out Access TXN related issues in association with RAN Projects. Reduce operational costs, propose innovative and Opex efficient back-haul solutions to reduce TXN network related recurring costs as much as practicable. • Support to provide the solution and bandwidth feasibility on microwave network for corporate customers. Design review, improvement & optimization of reportedly troubled MW links. • Responsible to keep all the planning tools and transmission databases, link budget etc. updated at all times in coordination with regional teams. • Analysis and suggestions for microwave hub to optical fiber nodes conversion. Re Utilization of Traffic free microwave links for rollout, expansions and 3rd route protection for the frequent fiber breaks segments. • Mega proposal for USF and other strategic projects. Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annually MW projects progress reports & presentations.

Eligibility Criteria (Education, Knowledge, Experience and Skills):

Education: • In principle to have a minimum bachelor's in engineering (Telecommunication, Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering/Computer Sciences/IT) or other relevant degree.

Work Experience: • Should have preferably 4-5 years of experience.

Skills – Generic: • Should have good Presentation and Communication skills. • Ability to work independently as well as a part of a team. • Stress management and ability to work in challenging environments.

Skills – Job Specific:

The ideal candidate must have a hands-on experience on path loss, map info, I River & Mentum Ellipse.
